Grunge and Hip-Hop
Word from: Mordy

In this week's Forward I wrote about Heedoosh: The world's first grunge Jewish band (except for maybe David Lazzar, who wrote Judah's Fill. Best lyrics? "Hey Johnny, Johnny, Johnny, what do you do in the market? You don't buy, you don't sell, all you cause is trouble.)

Also wrote about Soce - The Elemental Wizard, who - if you'll recall - I posted about awhile back. Check that article out here. (Or here for the super dirty version from the NY Press.)

Largehearted Boy posted a list of places to download music A-Z, which is totally cool. Even if it isn't Jewish. Also, a number of authors, including Michael Chabon, are auctioning off the chance to name a character in a forthcoming book. Someone totally needs to bid and demand really Hasidic names. (Amy Tan's new book: "Ming says to Miriam....")

And Chakira asks if Yeshiva University is an intellectual ghetto. That should interest a number of our readers. And though Mimaamakim doesn't promote the idea (or at least, I don't. I won't speak for Mimaamakim,) Washington Jewish Week did a piece on Jewish tattoos. Weirdjews, which always seems to be discussing tattoos, offers a pdf scan of the story.

Rent - The Movie Countdown: (November 23rd) 3 months. 1 week. 5 days.

Dirty, more like drrty...I guess this guy won't be on your CD?

And where is the reference to David Beckham getting a tatto with words from Shir Ha Shirim? In the spirit of ecumenicalism, I will get one in cockney that says 'I is me beloved and she be mine in da rozes'
