Sketchbook: Blue Boxers Redux
Word from: Shlomo

I wanted to try something in color, so I decided to revisit the sketches I did based on Jake's poemlet. At first I was going to use colored pencil, but I wanted the colors to be more bold, but wasnt ready to break out into paint just yet. I really love Jake's line--its only grown on me more as I thought about putting this together. It mixes a sense of awe with a sense of malaise, sobriety with chicanery, solitide with union with something greater (Even Kedushah and chol...).
It could have been a existenital/psychological piece without overlapping the panels with the dude's head, (as if they are the contents of his mind) but I wanted to juxtapose the chopped up words with his recital of the line together. There are a lot of little choices that I made, feel free to ask if youre curious about any part... Or just enjoy! I certainly did while working on it.

Hi, Shlomo
The Bronfman Center just asked for info about artists in my upcoming exhibit, so I searched the Internet for you and came across this! I love it! Hold on to it for the Bronfman Center. Lois
